Biking.

Biking is a fantastic way to explore the area's scenic coastal trails, charming towns, and state parks.

Fly high and feel the roar of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels
Pensacola is lucky to be the home base for the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the official flight demonstration team of the Navy. While they tour all over the country, we’re fortunate that they practice most Tuesdays and Wednesdays, March – November and host two shows a year, one on Pensacola Beach and one at NAS Pensacola.

Pedal your way to adventure
With popular trails like the Edward Ball Nature Trail and the Gulf Islands National Seashore, there are multiple places to bike for all levels. For the non-traditionalist, book an electric bike.
Good to Know
Biking in Northwest Florida offers a unique mix of coastal scenery, wildlife, and varying terrain. Whether you're interested in road biking, mountain biking, or casual cruising, the region has something to offer for riders of all levels.
Here's what you should know:
Weather Considerations
- Northwest Florida has a subtropical climate, so expect hot, humid summers with temperatures often in the 90s (°F). Spring and fall are ideal for biking, as temperatures are milder.
- Afternoon thunderstorms are common in the summer, so always check the weather forecast before heading out.
- Coastal areas may be breezy, and Gulf winds can impact your ride, especially along beach routes.
Safety Tips
- Florida law does not mandate helmets for adults but does require them for minors. However, it's highly recommended for everyone to wear one.
- If you plan to ride at night or in low visibility conditions, make sure to use front and rear bike lights.
- Bring plenty of water, especially on warmer days or for longer rides.
- Beach towns can have sand blowing onto roads and bike paths, which can make them slippery, especially after rain.
- Some areas have bike lanes, but in less developed parts of the region, bike lanes may not be available. Always stay alert to traffic.
Bike Rentals
- Many cities in Northwest Florida offer bike rental services, including options for electric bikes, cruisers, and road bikes.
Wildlife Awareness
- While biking near natural areas, be mindful of local wildlife like deer, armadillos, and snakes. In wetland areas, there may even be alligators near water bodies.
